The Maleny Botanic Gardens and Bird World entry ticket gives you access to the 18 acres of sculpted, layered gardens surrounded by rainforest and views of the Glasshouse Mountains. The six kilometers of paths meandering around beds of roses, azaleas, annuals, and rare cycads allow visitors to explore the gardens. There are many lakes and waterfalls, which are lovely locations for picnics and taking pictures on this land of the Sunshine Coast. It can take up to three hours to walk the entire length of the gardens. However, you can also rent a buggy (they seat up to six people).

Climb the impressive tree house, and explore the fairy garden, a whimsical area that children will enjoy. Walk through four large, interactive aviaries. The aviaries feature over 700 birds in four sections, including finches, small parrots, large parrots, macaws, and Australian birds such as king parrots, corellas, lorikeets, rosellas, and black cockatoos. Entry here is with a tour guide, who explains in detail the diet, behavior, and antics of the wide variety of birds housed there. Be pleasantly surprised as the friendly birds land unexpectedly on your head or shoulder.
