Your Experience

Explore Finland and Estonia in a 9-day winter tour with igloo stay, overnight train, city tours, and Arctic safaris.

Getting started

Begin your 9-day itinerary in Helsinki, where an airport transfer takes you to your 4-star hotel. After you check in, you settle into the Helsinki schedule that includes a guided 2-hour city tour before boarding the overnight Santa Claus Express train. Standard-class sleeping arrangements on this 12-hour Helsinki–Lapland round-trip connect your southern city stay with your time in Kuusamo and Lapland.

Santa Claus Express overnight train

The Santa Claus Express connects Helsinki with Lapland on a round-trip overnight route.

Features

• Travel on the Santa Claus Express overnight train on a 12-hour Helsinki–Lapland round-trip, in standard class, that maximizes your sightseeing time by moving between regions while you rest.
• Experience both northbound and southbound legs on this dedicated route, which forms the backbone of your movement between the capital area and Lapland.
• Assistance and support during the trip cover key transitions such as train boarding and arrival so that connections to your Lapland activities run as planned.

Kuusamo and Magical Pond igloo

Kuusamo is your Lapland base, pairing 4-star hotel comfort with a glass igloo stay at Magical Pond.

Features

• Stay in a 4-star hotel in Kuusamo, with breakfast provided each morning, creating a fixed hub for your snow activities and wildlife excursions.
• Spend a night in a glass igloo at Magical Pond, which is positioned so you can watch the Northern Lights directly from your bed when conditions allow.
• Airport transfers as per the itinerary link Kuusamo airport, your hotel, and Magical Pond, keeping internal movements coordinated without additional arrangements.

Santa Claus Village

Santa Claus Village is your focal Lapland attraction and the point where you cross into the Arctic Circle.

Features

• Dedicate 4–6 hours to Santa Claus Village, giving you ample time to meet Santa, walk through the Arctic Circle line, and explore the different village areas.
• Use this extended visit as the centerpiece of your Lapland stay, with time to experience seasonal activities and visit the village's main zones.
• Assistance and support during the visit help you keep track of timings so that later activities on your Lapland schedule remain aligned.

Northern Lights tours

Two separate Northern Lights hunting tours give you multiple chances to see the Aurora.

Features

• Join two Northern Lights tours of 3–4 hours each, scheduled on different evenings to improve your opportunity to witness the Arctic sky.
• Spend these nights outside city light pollution so you can focus on the Aurora when it appears, with each outing structured as a dedicated hunt.
• The glass igloo stay at Magical Pond complements these tours by adding another way to observe the Northern Lights directly from your accommodation.

Reindeer safari and farm visit

A classic Lapland experience that combines a short sleigh ride with a look at reindeer life.

Features

• Take part in a reindeer safari and farm visit that includes a 1.5 km ride lasting about 2 hours, giving you time both on the sleigh and at the farm area.
• Observe how reindeer are kept and managed on-site, then experience the calm pace of the sleigh ride through the surrounding snow.
• This activity is scheduled within your Lapland days and is included in the core tour, so no extra local booking is required.

Husky safari and farm visit

A faster-paced counterpart to the reindeer ride, using a husky team over a longer distance.

Features

• Ride on a 5 km husky safari that fills approximately 2 hours including farm time, which allows you to see the kennels and preparation before heading out.
• Experience the change in tempo compared to the reindeer safari, as the husky team pulls you across the snow for a more dynamic segment.
• Both the husky safari and the reindeer safari are already included in the Lapland portion of your tour, so you cover two key Arctic activities in a single itinerary.

Snowmobiling safari in Oulanka National Park

Oulanka National Park provides your backdrop for a snowmobile ride across prepared routes.

Features

• Join a snowmobiling safari of 10–15 km that lasts about 2 hours, using marked trails in Oulanka National Park for a controlled introduction to riding.
• Travel through winter forest and open sections of the park so you can see different types of Lapland landscapes within a compact route.
• This snowmobiling safari is part of the main tour inclusions, aligned with your Kuusamo stay, and does not require separate local arrangements.

Ruka Ski Resort

Ruka Ski Resort is your short alpine-style stop during the Kuusamo segment.

Features

• Spend 2 hours at Ruka Ski Resort, enough time to explore the base area, look over the slopes, and absorb the local ski atmosphere.
• Fit this resort visit into your Kuusamo schedule as a contrast to the safaris and wildlife, focusing on the ski village environment.
• Transfers and timing for Ruka are integrated into the tour itinerary so the visit aligns with your other activities in the region.

Ranua Wild Park

Ranua Wild Park showcases Arctic and northern animals in a controlled park environment.

Features

• Allocate 4 hours to Ranua Wild Park, giving you time to move through the grounds and view species such as polar bears, Arctic foxes, and lynx.
• Follow the walking paths to see the enclosures that highlight how these Arctic animals are adapted to cold-climate conditions.
• Ranua Wild Park admission and visit duration are structured within the tour so transport to and from the park is covered as part of your day.

Tallinn and the Baltic cruise

Tallinn adds a second country to your itinerary, reached by sea on a scheduled cruise.

Features

• Travel between Helsinki and Tallinn on a cruise across the Baltic Sea, with the round-trip crossing included in your tour.
• Stay in a 4-star hotel in Tallinn, where daily breakfast is provided just as in your Finnish hotels, creating a consistent standard across countries.
• Airport transfers as per the itinerary and intercity arrangements combine to connect your ferry times smoothly with hotel check-in and check-out.

Tallinn city tour and Old Town

Tallinn's historic core is introduced through a focused guided visit.

Features

• Join a 2-hour Tallinn city tour that centers on the UNESCO-listed medieval Old Town and its key streets and squares.
• Walk through the preserved medieval layout, with your guide outlining how the Old Town has maintained its historic character.
