Niagara Falls USA: Air, Land & Water Tour with Airplane Ride

Your experience

Explore Niagara Falls USA on a small-group guided tour that combines an airplane sightseeing flight, Maid of the Mist boat tour, and land sightseeing.

Getting started

Begin with round-trip hotel pickup and drop-off if you are staying in downtown Niagara Falls, New York, or meet at the Niagara Regional Tours Visitor Center. After you join your small-group guided tour and meet your licensed Niagara Falls guide, board the van transportation that will take you between each stop. Your guide outlines the approximately 5-hour schedule before you set off.

Airplane sightseeing flight

What to expect

Early in the itinerary, travel by van to the airfield for your airplane sightseeing flight, which provides an aerial overview before you explore on land and water. Security checks and screenings are completed before boarding, and the flight portion is weather dependent.

Features

• From the air you get views of Horseshoe Falls, American Falls, and Bridal Veil Falls, along with the Niagara River and Niagara Gorge laid out below you. On clear days you can also see the Buffalo and Toronto skylines in the distance, so you understand the wider setting of the falls.
• The airplane sightseeing flight is included as part of your tour, and in the event of a no-fly weather event, the flight portion is refunded while the rest of your itinerary continues as scheduled.
• This segment operates with an approximate passenger weight limit of 220 lbs (100 kg) and is suitable for guests aged 12 years and above, with instructions from the flight crew to guide you through every step.

Maid of the Mist boat tour

What to expect

Later, your guide brings you to the boarding area for the Maid of the Mist boat tour, where security screening is in place before you embark. This section of the day focuses on experiencing the power of the water from close range.

Features

• As the Maid of the Mist boat tour moves into the mist-filled basin, you get up-close views of Horseshoe Falls, American Falls, and Bridal Veil Falls from water level, surrounded by the sound and spray of the cascades.
• Ponchos at Maid of the Mist are provided as part of your experience, so you can stay relatively dry while still standing out on deck for the closest views of the falls.
• Admission to the Maid of the Mist boat tour is included with your booking, and the boat crew manages boarding, safety briefings, and the short cruise route while your guide remains available for questions.

Guided tour of Niagara Falls State Park

What to expect

Between and after the air and water portions, you spend time on a guided tour of Niagara Falls State Park, moving between viewpoints by van and on foot. The route is designed to show you different angles on the river and gorge.

Features

• At selected Niagara Gorge viewpoints you can see how the Niagara River has carved into the Niagara Escarpment, with contrasting perspectives on the same Horseshoe Falls, American Falls, and Bridal Veil Falls you saw from the sky and the boat.
• Your guide leads a guided walk along the upper gorge, sharing commentary on the history, geology, and development of Niagara Falls, and pointing out features such as the Niagara Whirlpool and sections of the Niagara Gorge.
• The guided tour of Niagara Falls State Park is included within your small-group guided tour, and all transportation between these land-based stops is handled by van transportation so you do not need to plan your own route.

Lunch break

What to expect

Midway through the day there is a scheduled stop for a meal, giving you a chance to pause between activities. The exact timing depends on flight and boat scheduling.

Features

• Lunch (up to 30 dollars) is included, so you can choose your meal within this value without needing to pay extra at the time, subject to the local options arranged for the tour.
• Your guide coordinates the lunch break for the group and confirms how the included lunch, up to 30 dollars, is handled before you order, keeping the schedule aligned with your remaining activities.

Wrapping up

Wrapping up

After the final viewpoints and commentary, your van returns you to the original departure point, using the same round-trip hotel pickup and drop-off pattern if you started from a downtown Niagara Falls, New York hotel. Gratuity is not included, so you can decide at the end of the tour whether to tip your guide based on your experience.
