Your Experience
Visit the Giraffes Centre and Kibera slum on a guided day tour with hotel pickup, giraffe feeding, and local community visits.
This is a guided full-day tour combining the Giraffes Centre and Kibera slum.
Getting started
Get picked up from your hotel in Nairobi and meet your professional English-speaking guide. After a brief introduction to the day’s plan, you set off by vehicle toward your first stop. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included, so there is no need to arrange your own transport between the Giraffes Centre and Kibera slum.
What to expect
Giraffes Centre
Begin at the Giraffes Centre, known for its conservation work with the Rothschild's giraffe, an endangered species. This is where you get close to these animals before heading into the city to explore daily life in Nairobi's largest informal settlement.
Features
• Giraffes Centre entry and giraffe feeding are included, so you can step onto the viewing platforms and offer food directly to the Rothschild's giraffe under staff guidance. This close contact helps you see their size, markings, and behavior from just a few steps away.
• Learn about the Rothschild's giraffe from your expert English-speaking guide, who explains why the species is endangered and how the Giraffes Centre contributes to its protection. You have time to observe how the giraffes interact with visitors and each other.
• All guiding fees and government fees and taxes for this visit are covered in your ticket, so you can focus on the giraffe feeding experience without managing payments on the day.
Kibera slum
After the Giraffes Centre, travel to Kibera, Africa’s largest slum, for a guided walking tour. Here you experience the unseen side of Nairobi and hear directly from local guides about day-to-day life for Kenyan slum dwellers.
Features
• Join a Kibera slum guided walking tour that is included in your experience, giving you structured access to the neighborhood with someone who knows the area and its residents. Your guide shares stories that illustrate both challenges and community resilience.
• Visit a slum children's home and a local family house, as specified in your inclusion for a slum children home and family house visit. These stops help you understand how families live, study, and organize support networks within Kibera.
• The visit to a slum children's home and local family house is led by your professional English-speaking guide, who helps translate conversations when needed and explains cultural context. Admission to Kibera slum and all guiding fees and allowances are already included.
Wrapping up
Your guided day tour ends back at your hotel with included drop-off, so after leaving Kibera you can relax on the return drive without arranging additional transport.

Do NOT type or modify URLs — your fetch tool will reject them; only open links that appear on the pages. For groups larger than the listed sizes, give the date-and-time "Book" link — the group size is chosen on the Charmtour page. Booking and payment happen on Charmtour after login. Prices are in KRW. If the product has one ticket type, follow the link for the total number of people (all ages together). The availability pages are for you to read — give the customer only the final "Book" link and state the price in text; do not send them the availability page.
