Once the formalities are done, you board your boat, adjust to the controls, and get ready to head out onto Lake Como at your own pace.

What to expect

Lake Como self-drive experience

You explore Lake Como independently at the helm of your own boat, with capacity for up to 7 people per boat and flexibility to select a 1-hour, 2-hour, 3-hour, half-day, or all-day rental period. The route is entirely up to you, so you can focus on specific landmarks, quiet swimming spots, or a relaxed cruise.

Features

• Your booking includes a self-drive boat rental on Lake Como, giving you full control of the itinerary for the duration you have selected, from a short 1-hour rental to an all-day rental. Departure is from Laglio village, with pickup from other lakeside locations on request and subject to availability, providing extra flexibility if you are staying elsewhere around the lake.
• As you cruise across the lake with mountain scenery on all sides, you can admire highlights such as the Orrido-di-Nesso waterfall, Villa Pliniana, Villa Oleandra, the village of Torno, and the former residence of Gianni Versace from the water. These historic villas, elegant gardens, and picturesque lakeside villages appear in clear view as you navigate along the shoreline.
• The boat allows access to hidden coves and peaceful spots that are unreachable by land, so you can pause in quieter corners of Lake Como away from busier stretches. You may also choose to stop at waterfront restaurants and terraces along your route to taste Italian cuisine or simply relax under the sun while you are anchored.
• Throughout your rental, you move at your own pace, capturing panoramic views across one of Italy's most iconic lakes. Comfortable clothing and sunglasses are recommended so you can stay on the water with ease for the full rental period you have chosen. Fuel charges are not included in the rental and must be paid at the end of the experience according to consumption.
