Getting started
Meet your professional guide in Catania, where your guided tour of TV filming locations in Southeast Sicily begins. After hotel pickup, board your vehicle and set off along the route from Catania to Punta Secca, Ragusa, and Scicli. Settle in for the drive as your expert guide introduces the Inspector Montalbano series context you will explore on site.
What to expect
Punta Secca and Marinella house
Punta Secca is the quaint coastal village that features prominently in the Inspector Montalbano TV series. This is where you visit the inspector's seafront house, known in the series as Marinella.
Features
• Walk right up to the Marinella house, the inspector's seafront home in the series, and see the shoreline backdrop used in many scenes.
• Travel from Catania to Punta Secca along the set route in a vehicle with round-trip transfers, so you can focus on the TV locations rather than navigation.
• Your expert guide explains how Punta Secca and the Marinella house were chosen for filming and points out the exact angles used on screen.
Ragusa and Ragusa Ibla
Ragusa is one of Southeast Sicily's key cities for Inspector Montalbano, and Ragusa Ibla is its historic quarter, often seen in the series. You explore this area on foot, following streets that served as the backdrop of many scenes.
Features
• Walk through the historic center of Ragusa and Ragusa Ibla, described as the pearl of Sicilian Baroque, seeing façades and squares that appear throughout the show.
• Spend time in the Hyblean Gardens, a central stop on the tour, and look out over the townscapes that frame several sequences from the series.
• As part of your guided tour of TV series filming locations in Southeast Sicily, your professional guide leads you through Ragusa Ibla, highlighting specific corners used during filming.
Scicli and Vigata police station location
Scicli is a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its Sicilian baroque style and is central to the TV portrayal of Vigata. Here you encounter key civic buildings used as important storyline settings.
Features
• Stroll past baroque buildings and churches in Scicli, paying particular attention to the town hall, which served as the location of the Vigata police station.
• View the exterior of the Vigata police station location at Scicli town hall, a core stop on the route, and understand its role in the series' recurring scenes.
• Your guided tour includes this final leg from Ragusa to Scicli on the route from Catania to Punta Secca, Ragusa, and Scicli, with your expert guide explaining how Scicli's architecture shapes the mood of Inspector Montalbano.
Wrapping up
After exploring Scicli town hall and the Vigata police station location, your experience concludes with hotel drop-off using the included round-trip transfers back to Catania.
