Getting started

On arrival at the gym, you check in for your introduction class to Muay Thai and meet your certified Muay Thai instructors. They explain how your group or private session will run, based on the option you selected. After this brief orientation, you move to the training area to change, wrap your hands, and get ready to start.

What to expect

• Technique drills form much of the session, so you work through basic stance, guard, and movement before adding simple combinations. You start to use fists, elbows, knees, and shins to explore the foundations of the Art of Eight Limbs.
• Coaching is adjusted to your ability, with progressions tailored to your fitness level and any previous boxing or sports experience. The gym is described as supportive and suitable for women, children, and families.
• Certified Muay Thai instructors stay close by throughout, offering clear demonstrations, feedback on each drill, and guidance on how to generate power safely while staying relaxed.
• Essential training gear is provided for you, including boxing gloves and hand wraps for use during class. You can also use the shower and changing room at the gym before or after your session.
