What to expect

Alcantara Gorges body rafting

This body rafting activity takes place inside the Alcantara Gorges, where the river has carved deep canyons through ancient lava flows. You follow your expert guide through stretches of river that include walking, jumping, climbing, and short sections of swimming, with some jumps reaching up to 25 meters high.

Features

• Experience pure adrenaline up to 25 meters high as you progress through the river, tackling natural drops, currents, and short climbs between the narrow rock faces. The route runs inside natural lava gorges and canyons shaped by the Alcantara River, so you are always surrounded by dark volcanic walls and clear flowing water.
• A body rafting activity like this requires a certain level of water skills, since the route involves walking through the riverbed, jumping into pools, climbing over rocks, and swimming short stretches under the supervision of your guide.
• Your expert guide, who is a certified CONI professional guide, leads the group through each section, explains the correct techniques for each jump or slide, and manages safety all along the way.
• All necessary equipment is included for the activity: a 5mm wetsuit to help insulate you from the river water, a helmet to protect your head, neoprene shoes for grip on wet rocks, and a river life jacket for buoyancy support during swimming sections.
• Before entering the river, you can leave your items in the personal belongings storage service so you do not carry anything during the activity. Free parking at the river park is available for guests who arrive by car, keeping your logistics simple while you focus on the excursion.
• Your booking includes entry to the river park with full-day access, so after the body rafting activity you can remain inside the river park for the rest of the day if you wish, making use of the river park entry and day-long stay option to relax by the water or explore at your own pace.
